Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is the 4.42km race track in Mexico City, named after famous driver brothers Ricardo & Pedro Rodríguez. The circuit was originally built in 1962, but forty years on in 2002 D3 Motorsport Development redesigned and reconstructed the rundown circuit for use by the Champ Car series.
The new design incorporated running the circuit through a baseball stadium that had been built on the grounds, adding an interesting visual aspect, challenging driver aspect and an additional 15,000 grandstand seats by using the stadiums permanent seating.
More then 400,000 fans turned out for the inaugural Champ Car event at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in 2002, bestowing D3 with Champ Cars “Biggest Attendance Event in its Inaugural Year” award.
