The streets of Durban came alive for a weekend a year from 2006-2008 when this bustling city hosted the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport on the D3-designed temporary street circuit. A1GP was in its inaugural year and an event of this caliber only boosted its status in the international Motorsport world.

Local and international press described the event as a huge success for the local tourism, hospitality and accommodation industries as well as showcasing the magnificent Durban coastline to the global television audience.
