It is all systems go for Durban's A1 Grand Prix, which has been given the green light by the department of agriculture and environmental affairs.
Preparations for the local leg of the race, described as the "Monaco of the A1", have been in full swing for weeks and the first batch of racing cars arrived in Durban this week.

When one considers the current trends in Formula 1 there is one that is beginning to emerge which is not at first obvious: racing seems to be heading for the streets, or at least circuits which are being built in urban areas to try to duplicate the excitement and atmosphere of street racing.
